 ScanSnap! lets you transform paper into useful digital information at speeds up to 15 pages per minute simplex, 30 images per minute's duplex. Multi-page documents containing color, black and white, text and graphic information on both sides can be processed into electronic PDF files at the touch of a button. The resulting PDF images are stored in the Windows file system on a local PC or network allowing you to interact with this information as you would with any other file. ScanSnap! provides a simple user interface that requires no special training in order for you to become productive immediately. The scanner connects to the PC via USB port allowing for quick installation and use. Fast Duplex Color Scanning at Your Fingertips Many of the documents we work with on the daily basis contain color graphics and text, black and white elements, and information on both sides of the page including correspondence, invoices, forms, magazine ads and articles, contracts, and personal notes. ScanSnap! faithfully reproduces both sides of a document in a single pass at an astounding rate of 15 pages per minute simplex (one-sided), 30 images per minutes duplex (double-sided), greatly simplifying the task of digitizing paper-based information. Hands-free Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Documents we work with on a daily basis contain more than one page including contracts, specifications, correspondence, invoices, and personal notes. ScanSnap!'s automatic document feeder will handle up to 50 pages at a time, making quick work digitizing even the largest of documents. "On the fly" PDF Generation Adobe PDF has become the defacto standard for document exchange. ScanSnap! facilitates the organization, sharing, and security of document images by taking automating the step of outputting a standard PDF file that can be viewed and processed by Adobe Acrobat, and viewed in the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Automatic Color Detection A single document can include color as well as black and white graphics and text. In today's scanning environment the user would have to separate the document and scan the color pages separately from the black and white pages, or just scan the document as one or the other. ScanSnap! analyzes the elements of a page processes them accordingly. Color pages are saved as JPEG images, black and white pages are saved as bitonal images - even when they are part of the same document! Users can scan mixed batches of color and black and white documents with the comfort of knowing the ScanSnap will preserve the look of the original saving time and storage space. Blank Page Detection (deletion) Documents can include pages with information on both sides of every page, but sometimes pages are intentionally blank. ScanSnap has the capability to sense whether a page is blank and eliminate it from the scan saving time and storage space. Business Card Scanning ScanSnap! includes CardMinder, an application designed to capture images and information contained on either side of a business card. This information is fed directly into a database for future reference and can be linked with popular contact management (CRM) tools including Outlook, ACT!, and Goldmine. ScanSnap!'s multi-page, duplex, and color capabilities allow you to scan and process stacks of business cards, greatly reducing time normally spent inputting contact information manually. PDF Thumbnails Being able to visually search images in a folder is critical to successful every day use. PDF image files created by ScanSnap! are visible as "thumbnails" through the MS Windows Explorer. You can freely browser the thumbnails as they would any other file or magnify the image to view the content without needing to launch the application. Adobe Acrobat 5.0 ScanSnap! bundles a full version of Acrobat 5.0 offering you the ability to perform additional operations on images including paper capture to convert images to searchable files, cataloging, and document security by adding digital signatures to your images. Easy Connectivity ScanSnap! offers plug 'n play connectivity through its USB interface. Compact Design ScanSnap! takes up minimal space on the desktop.
