Active Posting: Senior Developer - Calgary, AB Canada
Roles and Responsibilities:
Primary duties would include JAVA, JavaScript and Web development of a document management system.
Minimum required skills and experience:

JAVA
- Development in JAVA, including familiarity with container-based (Tomcat) server applications

Web development
- Advanced web development HTML, XML, JavaScript with an emphasis on AJAX, OOPs techniques, and DOM manipulation

OTHER
- Adaptability with programming languages (XSL, CSS, etc.) and development tools (Eclipse)
- Relational Databases including MS SQL and Oracle and SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL
- Ability to grasp a large code-base and ramp-up quickly
General:
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
- Strong knowledge of PC operating systems (Windows and Linux/Unix)
- Team-oriented programming and familiarity with source control (CVS)
Optional experience but extremely desirable:
- Document management, imaging, and workflow application experience
- Hessian/Burlap
- Oil and gas accounting application experience
- Microsoft .NET
Education: B.S. in Computer Science
Experience: 5+ years in software development

Product Implementation, Second Level Technical Support, and Quality Control for new product releases.

PRODUCT IMPLEMENTATION
- Work with Project Manager to develop a Statement of Work and Implementation Plan
- Execute the technical aspects of the implementation plan

PRODUCT SUPPORT
- Knowledge matter expert for all technical issues escalated by first level support

QUALITY CONTROL
- Work with QC Engineer as needed to modify test plans for upgrades and new releases
of the product
- Assist with product testing as needed (unit, regression, system, stress)
- Certify system as ready for installation
Minimum required skills and experience:
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting capabilities and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and written skills
- Familiarity with web (Tomcat, JSP), JAVA, and database-driven applications
- Understanding of SQL and strong familiary with MS SQL. Oracle experience is a plus
- Knowledge of PC operating systems (Windows and Linux/Unix and Command line savvy in each)
- Knowledge of networking and security
- Programming experience using Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0/.NET VB
Optional experience but extremely desireable:
- Quality Assurance and product testing
- Project Management experience, including working knowledge of MS Project
- Document management, imaging and workflow application experience
- Oil and gas accounting application experience
- Experience with scanners and Kofax scanning software
- JAVA programming experience
Education: B.S. in Computer Science or related field
Experience: 5+ years in Technical Support, Project Implementation, or Product Development
Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, Active Server Pages, Visual Basic, Java Script, JAVA,
Microsoft.Net and Relational Databases (preferably Oracle and MS SQL Server)
